Toyota fund for a better tomorrow with Ron Brooks Toyota and Scargill Primary School

During the past 2 years children have been exposed to the pressures of Covid and the current climate and their routines have all been affected and we wanted to help by speaking with Toyota to help fund and create a wellbeing space for the children to use to spend time away from the daily demands and stress of life and to be able to relax in a peaceful surrounding.

Ron Brooks donated £1,600 to help build the new space which should be completed in June, ready for everyone to enjoy the summer months. Our MD, Kevin Slack, said “To be given the chance to help Scargill School and the children in our local community is another proud moment for us and one we want to continue into the future with Toyota.”

With Scargill C of E Primary School being in the heart of our local community and our children and co-workers relatives working there, it was an ideal opportunity to help in any way we could and having a practical project aimed at achieving durable change in the community was agreed by Mr Hetherington, Executive Headteacher.

Mr Hetherington said “I would like to thank Ron Brooks & Toyota for this very generous donation, which has enabled us to continue our work to provide a calm, reflective and peaceful space for our children to use. We hope this will be something we can continue to add to and develop for the benefit of future generations of Scargill children”.

As soon as the wellbeing space is completed and ready to use we will be back at Scargill School to see how fantastic it will look and see the children using & enjoying the space!
