Suzuki Celerio Named “Cheapest Car To Run”

The journalists at Auto Express Magazine have combined their knowledge with the boffins at CAP Automotive and generated the Top 10 Cheapest New Cars to Run, and the Celerio came out on top.

The list takes into account all the things you’d expect – as well as some you wouldn’t. Factors that affect the overall cost of ownership include: fuel consumption, road tax, servicing, depreciation and insurance. These were all added together and then worked out over a 3-year, 36,000 mile period.

Top of the list, and the cheapest new car to run that you can buy in Britain, was the Suzuki Celerio 1.0 SZ2 which is unsurprising, given that it offers £0 road fund licence, 65 mpg and a list price of just £6,999.

The car is praised by Auto Express for its practicality and value for money, which surpasses all other city cars.  All models come with 5 doors and the largest boot in the city car class.
