This month’s spotlight shines on Lee Hallam, a member of the Toyota Mansfield Sales Team who has been with the company for more than 10 years.

When did you start working for Ron Brooks?
3rd May 2005. It was a little bit daunting at first because having never worked in a motor dealer before I had a lot to learn. I always say I’m still learning because I keep forgetting!
What’s your latest update?
My most recent achievement at work was being awarded the Gold Level Accredidation in Sales. This has taken four years to go through all the relevant training courses at the Toyota Academy and prove my commitment to customer service and the Toyota brand.
What do you like about working at Ron Brooks?
We’ve got a good group of people here at Ron Brooks, and I enjoy working with the other members of staff. I also enjoy working for customers as it is great to see someone happy with the service they receive. I used to work for company that only dealt with businesses and it’s a lot more satisfying to deal with people who really appreciate the work you do for them. I’m very thorough and I pride myself in delivering a great customer experience every time. I’ve enjoyed a lot of repeat business from families in the Mansfield area who also recommend other family members and friends to us. I’ve also sold my own family a few cars over the years!
What was your first car?
I passed my test first time when I was 17, and as a reward my parents bought me a 1989 Rover City Metro. I felt very lucky at the time but I can see now why Rover are no longer in business, the car rotted away within the first year of having it!
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Days off are precious in the motor trade, so I try and make the most of them where I can. Me and my partner love to go on city breaks, you could say my second home is Portsmouth where I visit the Gun Wharf Quays quite often. My favourite city however is Leeds, even more so since I proposed in the middle of Trinity Square! I’ve been paying for it ever since…
If we asked your colleagues to describe you, what would they say?
Hopefully they would say I’m a strong member of the Sales Team that can be relied upon. Enjoys a laugh and easy to get along with. I try my best not to cause other colleagues any grief!
Any plans for this Christmas?
I’m very lucky to have a few days off so there’ll be a lot of family time, chilling out, having a little drink and opening a few presents. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our customers, new and old, a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
