Suzuki have announced record sales figures for the first quarter of 2017.
The record breaking figure stands at 13,951 for the 3 months January-March, which is up 2,400 on the previous year. It also means that Suzuki GB had a record-breaking 2016/17 Financial Year, selling over 40,000 units for the first time in their history, resulting in a 2.58 percent market share of private registrations and an overall market share of 1.7 per cent.
Sales were boosted by the arrival of the all-new Ignis micro-suv of which more than 3,000 have been registered since launch of January 1st, some 1,200 units above expectation! Celerio and Vitara continue as strong performers in their segments, achieving 2,900 and 3,500 units respectively.
Director of Automobile for Suzuki GB, Dale Wyatt, commented:
“We are really pleased with our record figures and this proves once again the ever growing popularity of the latest range of cars and the strong relationships our 158 strong dealer network has with our customers. Our announcement this week to pay the first three years VED for new registrations will certainly help further and the future continues to look bright with our launch in June of the all-new Swift model”
All new Swift, launched in June of this year, is set to increase both sales and market share for Suzuki still further after rave reviews from the motoring press.
