The new Suzuki Ignis SZ5, launching January 2017, has achieved an impressive 5 star rating when tested by Safety experts Euro NCAP.
The Ignis is the first in the Supermini class to be tested under the new two-tier system which allows a higher-grade model, fitted with all the latest safety technology, to be tested independently from the rest of the range.

Ignis scored extra points for its clever Dual Camera Brake Support (DCBS) system, which uses a pair of cameras mounted to inside of the windscreen, near the rear view mirror. Working in a similar fashion to the human eye, the DCBS system has the ability to detect objects ahead, including pedestrians & other road users, and warn the driver of the impending danger. The system also has be ability to apply the brakes if the driver does not respond in time and an imminent collision is detected.

Models without the DCBS, which is available as an option, were awarded three stars.
Full pricing of the Ignis, which is due to be launched officially in January, will be announced next week.
