New 2016 RAV4 (Including Hybrid) Prices & Specification

The wait is over for the highly anticipated prices and specification announcement regarding the new 2016 Toyota RAV4. This new model replaces the version that was originally launched in 2013, and for the first ever on a RAV4, a hybrid powertrain option will be offered.

Engines and Powertrains

The 2016 RAV4 will be the first UK Toyota SUV to be offered with all three powertrain options, petrol, diesel and now hybrid. This is the most advanced range of engines in the entire SUV class, and Toyota are confident that there is now a powertrain in the range to suit every lifestyle.

The 2.0 D-4D engine is available in either Active, Business Edition, Icon and Excel grades and although no official figures have been announced, you can expect that engine to achieve around 50mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions from just 123 g/km. The diesel model will be offered in front-wheel-drive only, with 143 hp and 320 Nm offering brisk performance on the road with a 0-62mph time of just 10.0 seconds.

2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

The 2.0 Valvematic petrol engine has been revised to improve performance, fuel economy and emissions and is offered in both Icon or Excel specification and all-wheel-drive only. The power of the petrol engine is 151 hp and there’s 195 Nm of torque on tap. Emissions are 149 g/km – pretty impressive for a conventional petrol automatic four-wheel-drive SUB.

The pick of the bunch, and perhaps the biggest change that Toyota has made to the RAV4 since its introduction in 1994, is the 2.5-litre petrol/electric hybrid powertrain that is available in either two-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive. With fuel economy from 57.7mpg and CO2 emissions of just 115 g/km, it’s the most economical SUV Toyota has ever sold in this country and right up there with the leaders in this class. Another benefit of the hybrid powertrain is the exceptional amount of power delivered by combining an electric motor with a petrol combustion engine, with 197 hp available performance certainly does not suffer for the sake of brilliant fuel economy and low emissions. Torque stands at 210 Nm.

Colours

There are 8 colours to choose from on the new RAV4, no matter which engine choice or specification you wish to have. Pure white is the only solid colour, with Pearl white the only Pearlescent colour and Barcelona Red, Decuma Grey, Eclipse Black, Tyrol Silver, Deep Titanium and Blue Crush making up the metallic choices.
