In early July, as part of our continued effort to support the local community and help young people get an insight into the working world, Mark spent a week with Ron Brooks exploring each of the departments to see how it works behind the scenes.
This is what Mark had to say about his time with us:
“On Monday 2nd July I started my week’s work experience at Ron Brooks (Ilkeston Branch) where I gained a real insight into the many different aspects of a modern car dealership. Throughout my week I was very surprised of how much goes on within a car dealership and how each department operates and communicates with one another.
During my week I did a variety of roles such as admin tasks, accounts and getting information ready for customer handovers as well as different roles within sales. I also learnt how marketing is used in a car dealership and because of this it has given me the incentive into potentially looking into going into marketing in the future especially in the automotive sector.
Overall I would sum up my week at Ron Brooks as being one to really remember and would like to say a massive thank you to them for accepting me and making me feel part of a team. Hopefully in the future I may be back!
