It’s celebration time for the brilliant all-new Hilux as it picks-up the award for Best Pick-up in the Commercial Fleet Awards 2016.
The 8th generation Hilux, launched in July 2016, won the award in the face of stiff competition from other manufacturers to the prize which is based on the overall quality & durability of the vehicle, with comfort, safety and how well it appeals to drivers also taken into account.
The new Hilux benefits from improved specification, SUV-like interior look and feel and more economical engines. This is on top of a greater towing capacity, reinforced load deck and a stronger chassis that makes this the toughest and most rugged Hilux there has ever been. 18 million Hilux trucks have been sold across the world since the original was launched in the 19060s.
Judges for the award commented: “As smooth on the road as is it capable off it, the Hilux comes with high driver appeal wrapped in a workhorse body.
“It’s a genuine 4×4 which is loaded with safety and comes with a full range of cabs. The Hilux has stood the test of time and Toyota also finds a way to come back with improvements – it’s done it again with this latest model.”
General Manager of Toyota and Lexus Fleet Services, Neil Broad, was understandably delighted with the award: “The Commercial Fleet Award is significant, because it shows how the investment we have made in improving Hilux has hit the target with fleet customers.
