Director’s and staff at Ron Brooks Group would like to wish a fond farewell to Toyota Ilkeston Aftersales Manager Derek Hallam who has retired from the business after over 50 years of service.
Derek joined the company on 15th April 1971 as a workshop apprentice and elevated to Technician, Workshop Controller and eventually Aftersales Manager, a role which he has carried out since 2005.
Over the past 50 years Derek has become a familiar and trusted face for generations of customers and staff alike as well as building strong relationships with Toyota staff at their head office in Surrey and at the Burnaston production plant.
Derek’s knowledge and expertise will be greatly missed but he has built a strong team to carry on after him and maintain the Ron Brooks customer experience.
Group Managing Director Kevin Slack said “After 50 years of loyal service, we wish Derek a long and very happy retirement, which he truly deserves”.
Many of you will be familiar with Derek, and he is now the 4th member of staff which have completed their 50 year service.
We weren’t sure what emotion to put on this post, but we chose warm, not emotional – as Derek always was, as his customer service was the best of the best.
We wish you a very happy retirement Derek.
