On Saturday we were once again delighted to tow the Carnival Queen around Bakewell Town Centre for the 2016 Bakewell Carnival.
We have supported the Bakewell Carnival for many years and this year we took the Ron Brooks Toyota Land Cruiser V8 to be the lead vehicle of the Carnival Parade, behind the marching brass band, with the Carnival Queen and her Rosebuds in tow on the float behind us.

As a special request this year we had the Mayoress of Bakewell with us too, and we very much enjoyed here presence as we made our way around the route that goes right through the heart of Bakewell Town Centre.
There were plenty of floats that had clearly had a lot of effort put into designing and constructing, and some of our favourites included the Harry Potter Hogwarts Express, the Top Gun themed display and the mobile German bar.

We could not have chosen a better vehicle for the job of towing a the float, with the Land Cruiser’s 4.5-litre V8 diesel engine making light work of the hills around Darley Dale, from where we collected the float, as well as towing the float on and off grass that was fairly boggy due to the changeable weather conditions.
The rain showers didn’t put off the crowds however, with thousands of people lining the streets to celebrate one of the Town’s oldest traditions.
