Toyota stunned the motoring world today with the announcement that the new Yaris hot hatch variant will have a MASSIVE 210 bhp when it goes on sale later this year.

The Yaris will feature a supercharged 1.8-litre engine, which is something completely different to every other hot hatch on the market.
Yes you read that right… two hundred and ten brake horsepower. “More than 210bhp” is the actual words they used, while also stating that it will forge a real tangible link between the Yaris WRC entry and the road-going range of models.
The only other details we have at this stage is that it will be based on a three-door variant, which should please hot-hatch purists and driving enthusiasts alike. It’s hard to think it won’t have some form of forced induction under the bonnet, most likely a turbocharger, but there are no further details.
The high-performance Yaris will be unveiled to the world at the 2017 edition of the Geneva Motor Show which begins on March 9th.
